Improvement of epithelial damage in the conjunctiva (endogenous and exogenous)
This medication is used for the treatment of epithelial damage in the conjunctiva caused by endogenous diseases such as Sjögren's syndrome, mucous membrane epidermal syndrome, and dry eye syndrome, as well as epithelial damage due to exogenous causes like post-surgery, drug side effects, trauma, and contact lens wear.
0.1%, 0.3% formulations: Instill 1 drop once, 5 to 6 times a day. Adjust as necessary according to symptoms. Generally, the 0.1% formulation is administered; if the effect is insufficient in severe conditions, the 0.3% formulation is used.
This medication should not be used in patients with allergic reactions to protein-based medications. Symptoms such as itching, irritation, redness, conjunctivitis, and corneal damage may occur rarely, and if such symptoms arise, use should be discontinued and a physician consulted. Additionally, hypersensitivity reactions such as blepharitis or dermatitis may occur, and if such symptoms manifest, administration should be stopped immediately, and appropriate measures should be taken. When used in conjunction with other eye drops like steroids, dry eye treatments, antibiotics, and glaucoma medications, there may be an increased occurrence of adverse reactions, so caution is advised. This medication should not be used simultaneously with other eye drops; if it is necessary, administer this medication 30 minutes after the other eye drop. This medication is for use in the eye only, and care should be taken to avoid contact between the tip of the container and the eyelid or eyelashes. If the container is contaminated, the medication may deteriorate, so cloudy or contaminated medications should not be used. The preservative ingredients can adhere to soft lenses, so do not use while wearing lenses, and wait at least 15 minutes after application before inserting the lenses. It is beneficial to avoid sharing this medication to prevent infections. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store it in a cool place. Also, transferring the medication to another container can lead to misuse or degradation of quality, so it must be stored in the original container.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air or moisture. Additionally, it is best stored at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. This will help maintain the effectiveness of the medication for a longer period.
