Therefore, this medication is used for hypertension management as well as for reducing risks after heart failure and myocardial infarction.

Elderly patients (75 years and older) should start treatment at 40 mg once daily. Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with an allergy to this drug or those with severely impaired liver or kidney function, as well as women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, should not use it. Elderly patients, those with high potassium levels, or patients with impaired liver function, as well as those with heart valve diseases or ischemic heart disease, should use this medication with caution. This medication can significantly lower blood pressure, so patients at risk for hypotension or those already taking diuretics should start with a lower dose and be closely monitored. During treatment, symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, cough, diarrhea, and headache may occur, and severe cases should be discussed with a healthcare professional. Regular blood tests may be necessary as kidney function or potassium levels can change. When taking other antihypertensives, diuretics, or potassium-sparing agents, interactions may occur, so it's essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist. Caution is needed when driving or operating machinery due to the possibility of dizziness. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension and consciousness impairment may occur, necessitating immediate emergency treatment. Safety and efficacy have not been established for children and adolescents, so it is advisable not to use this medication in this population. Store it out of reach of children and ensure it is not transferred to another container.
