Dioval Tablet 80 mg (Valsartan)

Adult dose

Essential Hypertension: The recommended dose is 80 mg orally once daily as valsartan. If blood pressure is not adequately controlled, the dose may be increased to 160 mg once daily or combined with a diuretic, with a maximum dose of 320 mg per day. Elderly patients (75 years and older): Start with 40 mg orally once daily. Heart Failure: The recommended dose is 40 mg orally twice daily, which may be increased to 80 mg or 160 mg per dose.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, should not take this medication. Patients with severely impaired liver function or certain liver diseases should also refrain from using this medication. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity or allergies should avoid this medication. The use of this medication is not recommended for patients with severe kidney impairment or certain kidney diseases. Elderly patients or patients with high serum potassium levels, as well as those with mildly impaired liver function, should take this medication with caution, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. Patients with heart diseases or at risk of sudden drops in blood pressure should also be monitored carefully. Blood pressure, kidney function, serum potassium levels, etc., should be regularly monitored for abnormalities while on this medication. Interaction may occur if taken with other antihypertensives, diuretics, or potassium-sparing diuretics, so consultation with a physician is necessary. Dizziness or symptoms of low blood pressure may occur, so caution is needed while driving or operating machinery. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children and adolescents, so it's best not to use it. In case of overdose, seek medical attention immediately for proper treatment; inducing vomiting or dialysis may not be helpful. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container.

Serious side effects

Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/eye mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory distress accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis
