Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which should not be used by patients with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria. Since aspartame is broken down into phenylalanine in the body, caution is needed as these patients must limit phenylalanine intake. Additionally, since this medication contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. This medication is used for the treatment of asthma or allergic rhinitis but is not a bronchodilator for the treatment of acute asthma attacks, hence appropriate emergency medication should be prepared for emergency situations. When used in conjunction with inhaled corticosteroid formulations, the dosage should be adjusted according to a physician's instructions, and one should not suddenly switch to this medication from other steroid formulations. It is advisable not to take aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs while taking this medication, especially for patients with hypersensitivity to aspirin. Rarely, serious side effects such as systemic eosinophilia and vasculitis may occur during the use of this medication, so if symptoms of eosinophilia or worsening lung symptoms, skin rashes, etc., occur, immediate medical consultation is required. It can be used in various age groups from children to the elderly, but it should not be used in infants under 6 months of age, as safety and efficacy have not been established. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, and general treatment and monitoring are required, and if symptoms are severe, immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication is sensitive to light, so it is important to open and take it immediately before use, and it should be stored out of reach of children. During the course of taking this medication, if asthma symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear, it is essential to consult a physician and not to arbitrarily stop or change the dosage.
