This medication is effective for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis, acute gout, and dysmenorrhea. It is also used for a variety of painful conditions such as bursitis, skeletal muscle disorders (sprains, strains, trauma, lower back pain), postoperative pain, migraine, and pain after tooth extraction. This medication helps reduce inflammation and pain, thereby improving the quality of life for patients. Therefore, it is widely used for pain relief associated with joint and musculoskeletal disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

1. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: Adult dosage of Naproxen Sodium: 275-500 mg orally, twice daily (every 12 hours). 2. Precautions

This medication should be consulted with a doctor or pharmacist if taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three glasses of alcohol daily, as there may be a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. Patients with a history of cardiovascular disease or risk factors should be especially cautious as this medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular events. Severe gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as bleeding, ulceration, or perforation may occur, and the risk may be heightened in the elderly. Patients with certain conditions such as peptic ulcer, severe blood disorders, liver dysfunction, heart failure, renal impairment, and hypertension should not take this medication. Patients with hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should also refrain from taking this medication. Particular caution is needed when using this medication in patients with a history of peptic ulcer, bleeding tendencies, liver or kidney dysfunction, hypertension, asthma, elderly patients, etc. Rarely, severe allergic reactions, gastrointestinal bleeding, blood disorders, liver or kidney dysfunction, skin rashes, and severe skin diseases may occur, and if any abnormal symptoms arise, it is necessary to discontinue use and consult a doctor immediately. This medication should be used at the lowest effective dose and for the shortest duration possible; regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests are required for long-term use. It should not be used in conjunction with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and any concurrent medications should be disclosed as there may be potential interactions. Usage should be avoided during pregnancy, especially in the later stages, as it may pose a risk to the fetus, and it is safer for nursing mothers not to take this medication as well. It is advisable to avoid use in infants less than 2 years of age as safety has not been established, and caution should be exercised when administering to elderly patients with reduced dosages. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as drowsiness, chest discomfort, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting may appear, so caution is advised, and the medication should be kept out of reach of children.
