Control and treatment effect of essential hypertension
This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension and is utilized as a first-line therapy requiring combination treatment to achieve target blood pressure in cases where blood pressure control is difficult with monotherapy or in moderate to severe hypertension patients. Therefore, it is used to effectively assist in blood pressure management and stabilize blood pressure.
This medication is administered once daily, regardless of meals. 1. For patients whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy - Irbesartan 150 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily 1 tablet - Irbesartan 300 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily 1 tablet - Irbesartan 300 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg once daily 1 tablet 2. For initial treatment to moderate or severe hypertension
The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children and adolescents under the age of 18.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy; therefore, it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This medication should not be taken by pregnant women, women of childbearing potential, or nursing mothers. It should also be avoided in patients with allergy to this medication or its components or certain kidney dysfunction. It is unsuitable for patients with severely impaired kidney function or anuria. Caution is required for patients with severe liver dysfunction or certain liver diseases. Patients with a history of angioedema or experiencing angioedema due to similar medications should not take this medication. Patients with hereditary lactose intolerance should also refrain from this medication. Patients with specific health conditions such as hypotension, renal artery stenosis, renal transplant recipients, or liver impairment should take this medication with special caution. Due to the hydrochlorothiazide component, there is an increased risk of skin cancer, so it is necessary to minimize sun exposure and regularly check skin conditions. Side effects such as dizziness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, and abnormal urination may occur upon taking this medication, and renal function indicators may change in blood tests. Serum potassium levels may particularly change, requiring regular blood tests. Caution is needed when driving or operating machinery due to dizziness or fatigue. This medication can be used in combination with other antihypertensive medications but should be avoided with lithium preparations as it can increase toxicity. Patients being treated for diabetes may have a risk of hypoglycemia, so they should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and dosage adjustments for blood sugar control medications may be needed. This medication should not be taken during pregnancy or nursing, and safety for children and adolescents has not been established, so it is not recommended for them. Older adults may also respond sensitively to this medication, so caution is advised. In the case of overdose, signs such as hypotension, electrolyte imbalances, and dehydration may occur, and immediate medical treatment should be sought. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in the original container to maintain its quality.
