Adult dose

This medication is administered 1-2 times a day before meals or with meals. Each patient's current therapeutic regimen, efficacy, and tolerance can be considered for dosage adjustment, and appropriate blood sugar monitoring should take place. Precautions

This medication can cause severe lactic acidosis or hypoglycemia, so there is an increased risk of drug accumulation if kidney function deteriorates rapidly. If there are symptoms of dehydration, severe diarrhea, vomiting, fever, etc., temporarily discontinue use and consult a doctor. Additionally, care should be taken when used in conjunction with other drugs that may affect kidney function. This medication is not to be administered to patients with insulin-dependent diabetes, acute metabolic acidosis, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, pregnant women, or nursing mothers. There is a risk of hypoglycemia if blood sugar drops too low, so caution is necessary, especially for those with poor nutritional status, irregular eating habits, elderly patients, and those with weakened liver function. Initial doses may cause gastrointestinal symptoms (diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, etc.), which usually resolve naturally over time. Allergic reactions, blood abnormalities, and symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency may occur, so if any abnormal symptoms arise, contact a doctor immediately. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if taking any other medications, be sure to inform the doctor or pharmacist. It is safest not to take this medication during pregnancy or while breastfeeding and to switch to insulin therapy if necessary. For children and the elderly, monitoring kidney function is important, and dose adjustments may be needed. In case of overdose, hypoglycemia or lactic acidosis may occur, so contact a medical institution immediately and receive appropriate treatment. Caution is needed for driving or operating machinery due to potential symptoms of hypoglycemia. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.
