Precautions

This medication should be discontinued in patients with serious vascular issues such as thromboembolic disease or myocardial infarction, and if such symptoms are suspected, immediate medical attention should be sought. Although this medication is sometimes used to prevent natural miscarriage, caution is warranted as there is insufficient scientific evidence for this purpose. This medication should not be used in individuals allergic to the active ingredient or excipients, those with unexplained vaginal bleeding, individuals with liver dysfunction or liver disease, suspected cases of breast cancer or malignant tumors of the reproductive system, patients with a history of thromboembolic disease, and patients with porphyria. Using this medication may cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, bloating, constipation, vomiting, as well as fatigue, infections, headaches, uterine cramps, or vaginal bleeding. Skin symptoms such as itching and discomfort have also been reported. Before using this medication, it is essential to undergo examinations of the uterus and breasts, and for long-term usage, regular check-ups every six months are important. When irregular vaginal bleeding occurs, the cause must be accurately diagnosed, and the medication should not be used in the presence of undiagnosed vaginal bleeding before prescribing. This medication can cause fluid retention, and patients with epilepsy, migraines, asthma, heart, or kidney diseases should be closely monitored. Patients with a history of depression should be carefully observed for worsening symptoms, and the medication should be discontinued if symptoms worsen. Patients with diabetes must carefully monitor their blood sugar levels during treatment, as this medication may affect blood sugar control. This medication should not be used in conjunction with other intravaginal therapies; if concurrent use is necessary, a minimum interval of 6 hours should be maintained. If symptoms such as calf pain, sudden shortness of breath, hemoptysis, vision loss, severe chest pain, severe headache or dizziness, or limb paralysis occur, immediate consultation with a physician is necessary. This medication may cause drowsiness, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. When used in conjunction with drugs that induce hepatic metabolism, the effect of this medication may decrease, and drugs that inhibit hepatic enzymes may increase the bioavailability of this medication; thus, it is essential to inform the physician. It can be used in cases of early pregnancy with reduced luteal function; however, caution must be exercised as there is a potential for congenital anomalies in the fetus. This medication may be excreted in small amounts in breast milk, thus it is not recommended for nursing mothers. Safety and efficacy in children or elderly individuals over 65 have not been sufficiently established, so special caution is required. In case of overdose, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment based on symptoms.
