This medication is used for the treatment of essential hypertension and helps reduce blood pressure. It is also suitable for heart failure patients who cannot use ACE inhibitors and is effective even in severe cases. It helps reduce the risk of mortality in patients with decreased left ventricular function after myocardial infarction. It is used for these three major diseases, contributing to the improvement of cardiovascular health in patients.

How to take

Adult dose

1. Essential Hypertension Take with water during meals or between meals and preferably at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). Adults: The recommended oral dose is 80 mg once daily, which can be increased to 160 mg once daily if blood pressure is not well controlled. The maximum dose may be increased to 320 mg daily. Elderly (75 years and older): Start with a dose of 40 mg once daily.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents under 18 years have not been established.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus, especially if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Women who are pregnant or might become pregnant, nursing mothers, and patients with severe liver or kidney impairment, and certain hereditary angioedema patients should not take this medication. Elderly patients, patients with hyperkalemia, liver disease, and cardiovascular disease should take this medication with caution, as symptoms like hypotension may occur upon initial use, requiring close monitoring of their condition. Possible side effects during the use of this medication include headache, dizziness, cough, diarrhea, and fatigue, and serious side effects such as angioedema, renal dysfunction, and hepatitis may occur rarely, necessitating immediate consultation with healthcare personnel for any unusual symptoms. Particularly, patients with heart failure or post-myocardial infarction should monitor renal function closely, and simultaneous use with other antihypertensives or potassium-sparing diuretics may increase the risk of side effects due to interactions; consult a professional. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur while driving or operating machinery, so caution is needed. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or decreased consciousness may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment, and should be stored out of reach of children.
