Effects for seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (prevention), nasal polyps (treatment), and improvement of acute sinusitis.
This medication is primarily used for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis and perennial rhinitis in adults and children over 2 years of age. It can be used preventively 2 to 4 weeks before anticipated exposure to pollen, particularly in cases of moderate to severe seasonal allergic rhinitis symptoms. It is also used for the treatment of nasal polyps in adults over 18 years old, and it is effective for treating acute sinusitis without severe bacterial infection in adults and adolescents over 12 years old. This medication alleviates symptoms related to rhinitis and sinusitis, aiding in both prevention and treatment.
Allergic rhinitis: Spray twice in each nostril once per day (total daily dose 0.2 mg). When symptoms are alleviated, the dosage can be reduced to once in each nostril once per day (total daily dose 0.1 mg). If symptoms do not improve, the dose can be increased to a maximum of four sprays in each nostril once per day (total daily dose 0.4 mg), and it is recommended to decrease the dosage once symptoms improve. Nasal polyps: Spray twice in each nostril once per day.
Allergic rhinitis: Spray once in each nostril once per day (total daily dose 0.1 mg).
This medication is a nasal spray used to reduce inflammation and alleviate allergy symptoms. There are situations in which this medication should not be used. Do not use it if you are allergic to this medication or any of its components, or if there is an untreated infection in the nasal mucosa. It should also not be administered to those who have recently had nasal surgery, have wounds in the nose, or to children under 2 years of age. Caution is advised when using this medication under certain conditions. It should be used cautiously in patients with active tuberculosis or severe systemic infections, recurrent nosebleeds, or those at risk for chickenpox or measles. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a physician before using this medication. While using this medication, side effects such as headaches, nosebleeds, cough, and sore throat may occur. Rarely, irritation of the nasal mucosa, rash, liver function abnormalities, and changes in blood test results have been reported. Very rarely, severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis may occur; thus, if any unusual symptoms develop, discontinue use immediately and consult medical personnel. Caution is necessary for long-term use at high doses due to the potential for systemic steroid side effects. If symptoms of bacterial infection in the nose worsen or if facial pain or swelling occurs, consult a physician immediately. This medication tends to restore the nasal mucosa to normal without causing damage, but it is advisable to regularly monitor the condition of the nose with prolonged use. Particularly in children, there is a risk of growth delays, so the growth status of children using this medication should be observed consistently. This medication may interact with other drugs, especially certain antifungals or antibiotics, so it is important to inform the physician or pharmacist. Pregnant or breastfeeding women must discuss the use of this medication with healthcare providers and carefully consider its effects on the fetus or newborn. Shake the container well before use, and perform several test sprays before the first use. Avoid spraying directly into the eyes or the nasal septum area.
