Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn if administered to pregnant women in the second or third trimester, so treatment should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients allergic to any ingredients in this medication, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients undergoing renal dialysis, patients with severe liver dysfunction, patients with biliary obstruction, etc., should not take this medication. Patients with lactose intolerance should avoid this medication due to lactose content. Patients with reduced blood volume or body salt may experience initial hypotension after taking this medication, so they should carefully observe their condition before taking it and monitor blood pressure closely during treatment. Patients with severe heart failure or impaired renal function may experience worsening kidney function when taking this medication, so regular blood tests should monitor kidney status and electrolyte levels. Patients with renal artery stenosis may have an increased risk of worsening kidney function after taking this medication, so caution is warranted. This medication can increase blood potassium levels, so patients with heart or kidney disease should have their potassium levels checked regularly. Special caution is needed for patients with aortic or mitral stenosis, obstructive or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy when taking this medication. Patients with primary aldosteronism may not respond well to this medication, and its use is not recommended. This medication may cause dizziness, so caution should be exercised when driving or operating hazardous machinery. While this medication is generally safe to use, some patients may experience mild side effects such as dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, muscle pain, or rash. Rare side effects have also been reported, including severe allergic reactions, angioedema, liver function abnormalities, and acute renal failure, so patients should consult medical professionals immediately if any unusual symptoms occur. When taken with other antihypertensive drugs, potassium-sparing diuretics, or potassium supplements, there is a risk of dangerously elevated blood potassium levels, so caution is advised. Taking it with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may worsen kidney function, so adequate hydration and monitoring of kidney function are necessary during treatment. It is not recommended to use this medication in combination with lithium formulations, as it can increase lithium levels in the blood and pose a toxic risk. Pregnant women should not take this medication due to the risk of severe side effects occurring in the fetus, and breastfeeding women should either stop nursing or discontinue the medication. The safety of this medication has not been fully established for children, so it should be administered to children with caution. Elderly patients may show higher concentrations of this medication in the body, so caution is needed when administering it to this group. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension and palpitations may occur, and if symptoms are severe, immediate medical treatment is required. This medication has not been reported to pose any carcinogenic or genotoxic risks even with long-term use; however, if any unusual symptoms occur, consultation with a specialist should be sought immediately.
