Youngjin Cefditoren Pivoxil Tablet 100 mg

Adult dose

Adults: Administer cefditoren pivoxil 100 mg (potency) per dose orally 3 times daily after meals. Adjust the dose as appropriate according to symptoms, or, in severe cases or when the effect is considered insufficient, administer 200 mg (potency) per dose orally 3 times daily after meals.

This medication should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to any of its components. Patients with carnitine deficiency or congenital metabolic disorders that may cause carnitine deficiency should also avoid this medication. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity or allergic constitutions, severe renal dysfunction, poor nutritional status, or elderly patients should use this medication with caution. This medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis, so if any abnormal symptoms occur during administration, it should be discontinued immediately and medical attention sought. Various side effects may occur, including skin rashes, itching, fever, blood abnormalities, liver function abnormalities, renal function abnormalities, gastrointestinal issues, so careful monitoring is essential. In particular, if serious symptoms such as gastroenteritis or pneumonia appear, the medication should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be received. Long-term use of this medication may lead to vitamin K deficiency or vitamin B group deficiency symptoms, requiring regular check-ups. Additionally, caution should be taken as this medication may have reduced absorption when taken with other antacids or acid suppressants. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully weigh the benefits and risks of using this medication, and caution is also required during breastfeeding. Children, particularly newborns and infants, have not had their safety established with this medication, and there is a risk of hypoglycemia associated with hypocarnitinemia. Caution is necessary for the elderly, as reduced renal function may prolong the retention of the medication in the body, requiring adjustment of dosing intervals. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and it is advisable to keep it tightly closed to avoid moisture and light. Finally, this medication can lower serum carnitine levels, so extreme caution is necessary if related conditions are present.
