This medication helps to prevent and manage asthma. It is also used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis that occur seasonally or throughout the year.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken once daily; for asthma patients, it should be taken in the evening, and for allergic rhinitis patients, the dosage time should be adjusted according to the patient's condition. Patients with both asthma and allergic rhinitis should take one tablet in the evening once daily. Adults and adolescents aged 15 years and older should take Montelukast 10 mg orally once daily.

Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of asthma and allergic rhinitis. During the use of this medication, psychiatric symptoms may occur, so patients and guardians should carefully observe for symptoms such as agitation, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, hallucinations, and suicidal thoughts. If any of these symptoms or changes in behavior occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame; therefore, it should be avoided by patients with phenylketonuria, a genetic disorder. Additionally, patients who are allergic to this medication or have certain genetic diseases such as lactose intolerance should not use it.
