Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which should be avoided by patients with the hereditary condition phenylketonuria. The daily intake of aspartame should be limited based on body weight, so the minimum amount possible should be used. It should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance. During treatment, various adverse reactions such as fatigue, fever, abdominal pain, indigestion, headache, nasal congestion, and rash may occur, so caution is advised. Especially for patients with asthma or allergic rhinitis, symptoms should be closely monitored for any exacerbations. This medication is not to be used for acute asthma attacks, so a separate fast-acting inhaler should always be kept on hand in emergencies. Patients with hypersensitivity to aspirin should avoid taking aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs while using this medication. Rare vasculitis symptoms associated with eosinophilia may occur, and if respiratory symptoms or skin rashes worsen, immediate consultation with a physician is necessary. This medication has a low risk of drug interactions when combined with other asthma treatments; however, periodic monitoring is necessary when taken with certain drugs that induce liver metabolic enzymes. It should only be taken during pregnancy if the need is clearly established, and caution is necessary during breastfeeding. It can also be administered to children and the elderly, but adherence to physician's instructions regarding age-specific safety and efficacy is essential. In cases of overdose, there are no specific antidotes, thus general symptomatic treatment and observation are required. This medication is sensitive to light, so it should not be opened until ready for use and must not be transferred to another container. When taking this medication, it should be done regularly each day as prescribed by a physician, and if symptoms worsen or unusual symptoms occur, consultation with healthcare professionals should be sought immediately.
