Adult dose
For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with telmisartan alone, take 1 tablet of this medication once daily with water, irrespective of meals. Before switching to this fixed-dose combination, it is recommended to adjust the dosage of each component according to individual needs. When clinically appropriate, direct switching from monotherapy to this medication can also be considered. - Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination 40/12.5mg can be administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 40mg of telmisartan alone. - Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination 80/12.5mg can be administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 80mg of telmisartan alone. - Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination 80/25mg can be administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with either 80mg of telmisartan or 12.5mg of hydrochlorothiazide as monotherapy or in combination. Sodium or blood volume depletion should be corrected before starting this medication. For Patients with Renal Impairment No dosage adjustment is needed for patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. This drug should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <30 mL/min). Regular monitoring of kidney function is recommended. For Patients with Hepatic Impairment Patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment should use this drug with caution. This drug should not be administered in doses exceeding 40/12.5mg per day. It should not be given to patients with severe hepatic impairment (refer to precautions 2). Thiazide diuretics should be used with caution in patients with liver dysfunction. Elderly Patients No dosage change is necessary. Pediatric Patients Safety and efficacy in children under 18 years have not been established.

How to take

Precautions

This drug can cause severe harm to the fetus during pregnancy, particularly during the second and third trimesters, so it should be avoided in pregnant individuals. Patients with allergies to any of the components or additives in this drug, hypersensitivity to sulfonamide drugs, pregnant or nursing mothers should not take this drug. It should not be administered to patients with severe liver or kidney impairment, biliary obstructive disease, acute nephritis, anuria, or electrolyte imbalance. Elderly patients or those with elevated serum potassium levels, liver function issues, or heart disease should use caution when taking this drug, and regular skin examinations are recommended for those at risk for skin cancer. This drug has blood pressure-lowering effects, which may cause dizziness, hypotension, or fainting; caution is required when driving or operating machinery. During treatment, regular checks of blood electrolyte levels and kidney function should be conducted to detect abnormalities early. This medication may interact with other blood pressure medications, diuretics, lithium, certain antiarrhythmics, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, so it is essential to inform your doctor or pharmacist about any other medications currently being taken. In case of overdose, symptoms may include hypotension, cardiac rhythm abnormalities, electrolyte imbalances, and dehydration, so immediate medical assistance should be sought. This drug should not be used in children since its safety and efficacy have not been established.
