Allergic rhinitis and vasomotor rhinitis are conditions characterized by nasal congestion, sneezing, and runny nose due to nasal inflammation and hypersensitivity. This medication helps relieve these rhinitis symptoms and reduce inflammation of the nasal mucosa, aiding in comfortable breathing for the patient. It is primarily used for allergic rhinitis and vasomotor rhinitis.

Precautions

Patients switching from systemic corticosteroid therapy to this medication may experience decreased adrenal function and should be monitored closely. Particularly, patients who have received long-term systemic steroid therapy may demonstrate adrenal insufficiency in stressful situations, requiring careful observation. Caution is warranted for asthmatic patients or those with other clinical symptoms, as abrupt reduction of systemic steroid dosage may worsen symptoms. Patients with weakened immunity, especially those on immunosuppressive agents, should be vigilant against infections such as chickenpox or measles. Individuals with hypersensitivity to any of the components in this medication, tuberculosis, localized viral infections, systemic fungal infections, patients under 18 years of age, and patients post-nasal surgery should not use this medication. Patients with tuberculosis, respiratory infections, hypertension, diabetes, or glaucoma should use this medication cautiously, as well as those with recurrent nasal bleeding. This medication may cause local burning, inflammation, dryness, and rarely nasal bleeding upon nasal application; systemic side effects may occur with prolonged use. Increases in intraocular pressure, glaucoma, and cataracts have been reported rarely; consult a healthcare provider immediately if eye symptoms arise. Allergic reactions such as hives, rashes, and itching may occur; discontinue use if these symptoms appear. Symptoms such as burning or dryness in the throat, signs of infection, and rarely worsening of bronchial asthma may occur. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. Side effects such as hypertension, headaches, dizziness, and elevated serum cortisol levels have also been reported. Long-term use of this medication requires monitoring for changes in nasal mucosa, and patients with recent nasal surgery or trauma should refrain from use until the wound has fully healed. Excessive dosage may rarely lead to side effects such as menstrual irregularities, acne, and Cushing's syndrome; therefore, caution is necessary. Infection with chickenpox or measles can be fatal; thus, medical history and vaccination status should be carefully checked, and infection prevention should be prioritized. Pregnant or nursing women should use this medication cautiously and only after consulting with a doctor if necessary. Caution is warranted as overdose may suppress pituitary and adrenal function. Shake the bottle well before use, clean the nose thoroughly, and administer with the correct method. If the nozzle is blocked, avoid sharp tools and clean with lukewarm water instead. Keep out of the reach of children to prevent safety accidents.
