Relief of symptoms such as allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, and chronic urticaria
This medication is used for seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, and pruritus.
Adults and children over 12 years should take 10 mg of cetirizine hydrochloride orally once daily. Patients with kidney impairment should adjust the dosing interval and dosage based on their kidney function. The dosage adjustments based on creatinine clearance are as follows: - Normal (≥80 mL/min): 10 mg once daily - Mild (50-79 mL/min): 10 mg once daily - Moderate (30-49 mL/min): 5 mg once daily
For children under 2-12 years, adjust the dosage based on weight. - 30 kg or more: 10 mg daily - Less than 30 kg: 5 mg daily Pediatric patients with renal impairment should have their dosage adjusted individually based on renal clearance and weight.
This medication should not be taken by individuals with allergic reactions to certain components or with a history of such reactions. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, breastfeeding women, children under 2 years of age, and patients with fructose intolerance should also not take this medication. It is important to avoid using this medication concurrently with certain drugs, such as theophylline or ritonavir. Since this medication is secreted in small amounts through breast milk, breastfeeding should be discontinued while taking it, and alcohol should be avoided. Patients with impaired kidney or liver function, the elderly, epileptic patients, and those with conditions that result in poor urine output should consult healthcare professionals before taking this medication. Overdose may cause confusion, dizziness, drowsiness, rapid heartbeat, trembling, and other symptoms; in such cases, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. While taking this medication, various side effects such as drowsiness, headache, indigestion, skin rash, and abnormal liver function may occur; therefore, if any abnormal symptoms arise, it is necessary to inform a healthcare professional. It is recommended not to take this medication for 3-5 days prior to an allergy reaction test, and caution should be exercised not to exceed the recommended dosage when driving or operating machinery. Food may slightly slow the absorption rate of this medication, but it does not affect the total absorption.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweats, pale skin, severe rash with fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in the oral/ocular mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, breathing difficulties accompanied by coughing + fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), severe and sudden headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, vision disorders, paralysis, urination

Do not take this medication with theophylline or ritonavir.
Do not take this medication with excessive alcohol.
This medication should be stored in a container that does not allow light to pass through, as it is sensitive to light. Additionally, it should be stored at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius to maintain its effectiveness.
