This medication is primarily used in patients with hypercholesterolemia and hyperlipidemia. It assists patients with primary hypercholesterolemia, especially those with familial hypercholesterolemia and combined hyperlipidemia, when dietary management and exercise are insufficient. It also reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases and slows the progression of atherosclerosis. Particularly in children and adolescents aged 10 to 17 years with familial hypercholesterolemia, it is used as an adjunct to diet. It is also effective in patients with dysbetalipoproteinemia. This medication contributes to improving cardiovascular health by reducing the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and arterial revascularization.
