Precautions

This medication contains aspartame, an artificial sweetener, and should not be taken by patients with phenylketonuria, a genetic condition. Additionally, care should be taken to ensure that the intake of aspartame does not exceed the daily limit set by the WHO. Patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or with specific genetic issues such as lactose intolerance should not take it. Asthma or allergic rhinitis patients taking this medication must be aware that side effects such as fatigue, headache, abdominal pain, cough, and rash may occasionally occur. Especially during the use of this medication, it should not be used as a treatment for acute asthma attacks, so an emergency rescue inhaler should always be kept on hand. Corticosteroid preparations should not be suddenly discontinued or substituted with this medication; instead, they should be adjusted gradually under a doctor's direction. During treatment with this medication, symptoms related to the nervous system, such as anxiety, depression, or hallucinations may occur; patients experiencing such changes should consult a doctor. Patients who have shown hypersensitivity to aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should avoid using these medications while on this drug. Rarely, asthma patients may exhibit eosinophilia and vascular symptoms; if respiratory symptoms or skin rashes worsen, immediate medical consultation is necessary. While this drug has not been significantly associated with drug interactions when used with other asthma medications, caution is needed when used concurrently with certain anticonvulsants or antibiotics. Pregnant or nursing women should consult a doctor before using this medication and should only take it if necessary. For pediatric patients, it should be used within the safety and efficacy ranges established according to age, with its safety not having been established for infants under 6 months. Elderly patients may use it without special precautions; however, there may be age-related differences in responses, so monitoring is necessary. There is no specific antidote for overdose; therefore, general emergency care and medical observation are required. This drug is sensitive to light, so it should be opened just before use and taken immediately after unsealing, and it must be kept out of reach of children. Finally, this medication must be taken consistently even when asthma symptoms are absent, and immediate consultation with a doctor is required if symptoms worsen or side effects appear.
