This medication is used to effectively control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension. It is also suitable for heart failure patients who show intolerance to ACE inhibitors, particularly those classified as NYHA class II to IV. Additionally, it helps reduce the risk of mortality after myocardial infarction in stable patients with left ventricular failure or dysfunction. Through these effects, it improves cardiovascular health and supports the overall quality of life of patients. Thus, this drug is widely used for hypertension, heart failure, and post-myocardial infarction treatment.

How to take

Adult dose

Essential Hypertension: The recommended dosage is 80 mg orally once a day as valsartan. Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Interactions may occur when this drug is taken with other blood pressure medications, diuretics, or anticoagulants, so it is essential to inform the healthcare provider of any other medications being taken. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not use this drug, and its use should be avoided during breastfeeding. The safety and effectiveness of this drug in children and adolescents have not been sufficiently established, so it is advisable not to use it in this age group. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, reduced consciousness, or shock may occur, necessitating immediate emergency treatment, as blood dialysis is not effective. This drug should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to other containers may lead to decreased quality or accidents, so be cautious.
