View approved original text

This medication effectively helps control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension. It is also used for the treatment of heart failure in patients unable to use ACE inhibitors, specifically those classified as NYHA stage II to IV. It is effective in reducing mortality risk in clinically stable patients exhibiting left ventricular dysfunction after a myocardial infarction. Thus, this medication plays an important role in managing hypertension, supporting heart failure control, and recovery after myocardial infarction, improving the health condition of patients.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; thus, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients who have an allergic reaction to this medication, or those with severely impaired liver or kidney function, as well as pregnant or nursing women, should not take this medication. Elderly patients, those with high serum potassium levels, and patients with mild hepatic impairment should take caution while using this medication and may require dosage adjustments. This medication has blood pressure-lowering effects, so patients should be closely monitored for symptoms of hypotension when beginning treatment or increasing the dose. Patients with heart failure or recent myocardial infarction should have their kidney function monitored periodically, and caution should be exercised for potential interactions when taking this medication with other antihypertensive drugs. During treatment, side effects such as headache, dizziness, fatigue, and cough may occur; patients should consult healthcare professionals if unusual symptoms appear. There is a risk of dangerously high serum potassium levels if taken with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements, so caution is needed. Regular blood tests to check for abnormalities, such as liver function tests or kidney function tests, are advisable. This medication has not established safety and effectiveness in children and adolescents, so its use is discouraged. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or altered consciousness may occur, necessitating immediate medical attention. When storing, keep this medication in a place out of reach of children and do not transfer it to another container, as this is safer. Dizziness may occur when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should consult healthcare professionals before taking this medication, and breastfeeding mothers are also advised to avoid its use.
