It is safe not to administer to patients with end-stage renal disease or those undergoing hemodialysis. Dosage adjustments and caution are required for children and the elderly, particularly starting at a lower dose for elderly patients with reduced kidney function. It may be helpful to temporarily discontinue this drug before an allergy test for accurate results.
