Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. Patients who are allergic to this drug or its components should not take it. Additionally, as it contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with lactose intolerance or certain genetic digestive disorders. Patients with impaired kidney function, the elderly, those with cardiovascular diseases, or a history of such conditions should exercise caution when using this medication. This drug contains the dye Yellow No. 5, which should be used cautiously by individuals allergic to this component. During use, symptoms such as headache, drowsiness, dizziness, and nausea may occur. Rarely, allergic reactions such as fatigue, insomnia, irritability, rash, hives, and itching may occur; if any unusual symptoms appear, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary. In severe cases, shock symptoms may arise; if symptoms like difficulty breathing, low blood pressure, skin swelling, or chest pain occur, discontinue use immediately and seek urgent medical treatment. Because it may affect liver function, discontinue use if symptoms of liver dysfunction occur and seek appropriate measures. In patients with reduced kidney function, dose adjustments are necessary, and caution may be needed when driving or operating machinery on an individual basis. This medication is minimally metabolized in the liver, thus the potential for drug interactions is low; however, when taken with certain antibiotics, blood concentration may increase, so caution is advised. It is advisable to take this medication at least 2 hours apart from antacids containing aluminum or magnesium hydroxide. Taking with fruit juices, especially grapefruit juice, orange juice, and apple juice may reduce the effectiveness of this medication, so it is recommended to take it with water. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the risks to the fetus versus the benefits of treatment, and nursing women are advised to avoid taking it. Safety in children under 12 years of age and newborns has not been established. Overdose may result in symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, and thirst; however, serious toxicity cases are rare, and general emergency measures are needed in case of overdose. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers to maintain quality and safety.
