View approved original text

This medication is used for the treatment of essential hypertension. It is also helpful for patients with heart failure who are intolerant to ACE inhibitors, especially those classified as NYHA Class II to IV. Furthermore, it is effective in reducing the risk of mortality after myocardial infarction in stable patients with left ventricular dysfunction or left ventricular systolic dysfunction. Thus, this drug helps in blood pressure control, improvement of heart function, and better prognosis after myocardial infarction.
