This medication is primarily used to improve symptoms due to atherosclerosis in adult patients with ischemic stroke, myocardial infarction, and peripheral artery disease. It also reduces the risk of cardiovascular complications that may occur after treatment in patients with acute coronary syndrome, particularly those with unstable angina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction. It helps reduce cardiovascular risks in patients who have undergone cardiac surgery or coronary interventions. Furthermore, in patients with atrial fibrillation who have vascular risk factors and where vitamin K antagonists are unsuitable, it effectively lowers the risk of stroke and thromboembolism without increasing bleeding risk. This achieves significant therapeutic effects in various cardiovascular-related conditions.

How to take

○ Adults 1. In patients with ischemic stroke, myocardial infarction, or peripheral arterial disease, administer clopidogrel 75 mg orally once daily. 2. Precautions

This medication prevents platelets from clumping together, helping the blood flow properly. Consult a physician if you have a genetic deficiency in the function of a specific enzyme (CYP2C19), as it may reduce the effectiveness of the drug. Avoid using this drug in combination with medications that activate the CYP2C19 enzyme, as it may increase the risk of bleeding. This drug should not be used in patients with allergies to specific components, those with bleeding disorders, patients with severe liver impairment, breastfeeding women, or patients with lactose intolerance. Patients with a high risk of bleeding, diminished liver or kidney function, elderly patients, underweight patients, and those with specific allergy histories should use this drug with caution. If bleeding symptoms occur while taking this medication, consult a physician immediately, and notify your physician if surgery is planned. This medication may increase the risk of bleeding when taken with other drugs that have bleeding risks, anticoagulants, or antiplatelet agents, so caution is needed. During pregnancy, the risk to the fetus is not clearly established; however, it may be needed in emergencies and should be discontinued before delivery due to bleeding risks. In breastfeeding cases, since this drug may be excreted in breast milk, the decision to use it should be made after consulting a physician. Safety for pediatric use has not been established. In cases of overdose, the risk of bleeding may increase, so the prescribed dosage must be strictly followed. This drug should be stored out of reach of children and not transferred to other containers.
