Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
This medicine is used to relieve acute and chronic pain that ranges from moderate to severe.
For children over 12 years and adults: The dosage should be adjusted according to the severity of pain and therapeutic response. It is recommended to administer an initial dose of 2 tablets, and thereafter the interval between doses should be at least 6 hours, not exceeding a total of 8 tablets per day. Aim to administer the lowest effective dose for as short a duration as possible. Do not administer this medication for longer than necessary, and if prolonged use is required due to the nature and severity of the disease, regular monitoring should be conducted to confirm the necessity of continued administration of this medication. Elderly patients Administer the usual adult dosing. However, in patients over 75 years old, since the half-life of tramadol has been shown to increase by 17% when taken orally, ensure that the interval between doses is at least 6 hours. Renal Impaired Patients For moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance 10-30 ml/min), extend the dosing interval to 12 hours. Administration is not recommended for severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 10 ml/min). Tramadol is removed very slowly during dialysis and filtration, so there is no need for re-administration of this medication to maintain analgesic effects post-dialysis. Hepatic Impaired Patients For moderate hepatic impairment, consider extending the dosing interval cautiously. Administration is not recommended for severe hepatic impairment.
This medication may put strain on the liver, so individuals who regularly consume more than three cups of alcohol daily should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. If severe skin reactions such as rash, itching, or blisters occur during treatment, you should stop taking it immediately and seek medical attention. One of the ingredients in this medication can cause seizures, so patients with a history of seizures or those at high risk of seizures should use it cautiously. The risk of seizures can increase when taken with specific antidepressants or other medications. This medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions; if symptoms such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling of the face or neck occur after taking it, emergency treatment should be sought immediately. This medication may be dangerous for patients with acute or severe bronchial asthma; if necessary, it should be administered cautiously in a setting equipped for medical care. Taking this medication with alcohol or central nervous system depressants (e.g., sleep medications, sedatives) can cause severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma, so combination or use should follow a doctor's instructions. Patients with head injuries or brain conditions should be careful, as there is a risk of increased intracranial pressure due to respiratory depression while taking this medication. This medication can cause physical and mental dependence, so dosages and treatment duration should be managed under a doctor’s guidance for long-term use. Patients with poor liver function or liver disease should consult a doctor before taking this medication, as there is a risk of liver damage due to the acetaminophen component. Patients with certain genetic metabolic traits may produce excessive active metabolites, leading to serious side effects such as respiratory depression, so caution is necessary. This medication should not be administered to children under 12 years or children under 18 years post-surgery, especially those with sleep apnea, as it may pose risks. This medication can induce sleep apnea or hypoxia, so dosage adjustments or discontinuation should be considered if symptoms worsen. Elderly patients or those at risk of hyponatremia should be closely monitored for hyponatremia occurrences. This medication may interact with specific drugs, so any other medications being taken should be reported to a doctor or pharmacist; caution is particularly needed when taken with antidepressants, antibiotics, anticoagulants, or central nervous system depressants. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult healthcare professionals before taking this medication, as it may pass into breast milk and pose risks to the infant. This medication can cause drowsiness or dizziness, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, serious respiratory depression, seizures, or liver damage can occur, so dosages must be adhered to, and medical institutions should be visited if overdose is suspected. Keep this medication out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
