This drug is used to relieve symptoms from seasonal allergic rhinitis and persistent perennial allergic rhinitis. It is also effective in improving symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria. It is used in conjunction with hydrocortisone topical preparations to reduce itching caused by dermatitis or eczema. It helps alleviate the symptoms of various allergic and skin diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Take 1 tablet (Levocetirizine Hydrochloride 5 mg) orally once daily, regardless of meals. For patients with renal impairment, the dosage should be adjusted based on kidney function (creatinine clearance). Precautions

This drug should not be used by patients who are allergic to specific ingredients or have previously had hypersensitivity to hydroxyzine or piperazine derivatives. It should not be administered to patients with severely impaired renal function or those undergoing dialysis, to pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, and to nursing mothers. This drug should not be used in infants under 1 year of age, and children under 6 years should be administered in liquid form rather than tablets. This drug may cause various side effects, commonly including drowsiness, headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and skin rash. Rarely, severe allergic reactions or blood abnormalities have been reported. It is safer for pregnant or nursing women not to use this drug, and particularly while nursing, as the drug may be transmitted through breast milk. In pediatric patients, it should not be used in infants under 1 year, liquid form should be administered to those under 6 years, and the dosage for children under 12 years should be carefully adjusted.
