Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
This medication is used to relieve acute and chronic pain ranging from moderate to severe.
Children and adults over 12 years: The dosage should be adjusted based on the patient's level of pain and therapeutic response. It is recommended to take an initial dose of 2 tablets, and subsequent doses should be administered at least 6 hours apart, not exceeding 8 tablets per day. Administer the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible. Avoid prolonged use beyond necessity, and in cases requiring long-term therapy due to the nature and severity of the disease, regular monitoring should be performed to determine the need for continued administration of this medication. Elderly For elderly patients, administer the usual adult dosage. However, in elderly patients over 75 years, the elimination half-life of tramadol may increase by 17%, so administer this medication at least 6 hours apart. Renal Impairment Patients For patients with moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance 10-30 ml/min), extend the dosing interval to 12 hours. For patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 10 ml/min), administration is not recommended. Tramadol is removed very slowly during dialysis and filtration, so there is no need to readminister this medication after dialysis to maintain analgesic effects. Hepatic Impairment Patients In patients with moderate hepatic impairment, carefully consider extending the dosing interval during administration. Do not administer this medication to patients with severe hepatic impairment.
This medication may burden the liver, so individuals who frequently consume more than a certain amount of alcohol daily should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. If any rash or allergic reaction occurs while taking this medication, discontinue it immediately and consult healthcare professionals. Due to the risk of seizures, caution is needed if there is a history of seizures or if other medications that may induce seizures are being taken. Serious allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis may occur rarely, so if sudden shortness of breath or rash develops, seek emergency treatment immediately. Patients with severe respiratory diseases may experience increased difficulty in breathing while taking this medication and should be monitored by healthcare professionals. Taking this medication with alcohol or central nervous system depressants can lead to severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, and coma, so combination should be avoided. Patients with brain injuries or increased intracranial pressure may experience worsening symptoms while taking this medication, so caution is required. This medication can lead to physical and psychological dependence; therefore, dosage and duration should be adjusted according to the instructions of a medical professional for long-term use. Patients with impaired liver function must consult a doctor before taking this medication and adhere to recommended doses to minimize the risk of liver damage. The metabolism rate of this medication may be higher in individuals with certain genetic characteristics, increasing the risk of side effects such as respiratory depression; caution is needed when taking. This medication should not be administered to children under 12 years or adolescents under 18 years after certain surgeries, and special caution is necessary for pediatric patients. Patients with sleep apnea or symptoms of hypoxia may experience worsening symptoms after taking this medication and need continuous monitoring. Elderly patients or those at risk of hyponatremia should be monitored closely for symptoms of hyponatremia while taking this medication. This medication should not be administered to certain patients, especially those with severe respiratory depression, significant liver, kidney, or heart dysfunction, or those with substance abuse issues. Sudden discontinuation during treatment can lead to withdrawal symptoms, so the dosage should be tapered gradually according to the doctor's instructions. This medication has many interactions with other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, be sure to inform the healthcare provider, especially if using antidepressants, anticonvulsants, or narcotic pain relievers. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur due to this medication during driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised.
