Precautions

This medication may strain the liver; therefore, individuals who regularly consume three or more alcoholic beverages daily should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. If any abnormal reactions such as rash or itching occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention. Due to the risk of seizures, patients with a history of seizures or those taking medications that may induce seizures should be particularly cautious. Severe allergic reactions may occur infrequently, so if symptoms such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, lips, or tongue appear, visit a medical institution immediately. Patients with asthma or severe respiratory conditions may experience difficulties in breathing when taking this medication, so it should be administered under medical supervision. This medication can affect the central nervous system, and taking it with central nervous system depressants such as alcohol or sedatives can increase risks. Patients with head injuries or elevated intracranial pressure may experience worsening symptoms from taking this medication, which requires caution. This medication can cause physical and psychological dependence; thus, long-term use should strictly follow the doctor's instructions regarding dosage and duration. Patients with impaired liver function should consult a doctor before using this medication, and they should not exceed recommended dosages due to the risk of liver damage. Patients with certain genetic metabolic traits may metabolize this medication rapidly, leading to a higher risk of serious side effects such as respiratory depression, so caution is needed. This medication should not be administered to children under 12 years old or to adolescents under 18 years who have had specific surgeries (tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy). Patients with sleep apnea or at risk for hypoxia should be monitored closely for symptom worsening after taking this medication. Electrolyte imbalances such as hyponatremia may occur; older patients or those with risk factors should regularly undergo blood tests. Patients allergic to any component of this medication, those in severe respiratory depression states, or those with head injuries or on specific medications should not use it. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before using this medication, and especially breastfeeding mothers should avoid it for safety. Caution is required as drowsiness or dizziness may occur while driving or operating machinery. In cases of overdose, serious respiratory depression, seizures, liver damage, etc., may occur; hence, strict adherence to dosage is necessary, and the dosage should not be altered or discontinued without the doctor's instruction.
