Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
This medication is used to relieve acute and chronic pain that ranges from moderate to severe.
Children aged 12 years and older and adults: The dosage should be adjusted based on the intensity of pain and treatment response. It is recommended to start with an initial dose of 2 tablets, and subsequent dosing intervals should be at least 6 hours apart, but no more than 8 tablets a day. The effective minimum dose should be used for as short a duration as possible. This medication should not be used for longer than necessary, and if long-term use is needed due to the nature and severity of the disease, regular monitoring should be conducted to evaluate the continuation of this medication. Elderly patients Administer the usual adult dose, but for those over 75 years of age, the half-life of tramadol is increased by 17% when taken orally, so minimum intervals of at least 6 hours should be maintained. Patients with renal impairment For moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance 10-30 ml/min), extend the dosing interval to 12 hours. For severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 10 ml/min), administration is not recommended. Tramadol is eliminated very slowly during hemodialysis and filtration, so there is no need to re-administer this drug to maintain analgesic effect post-dialysis. Patients with liver impairment Consider extending the dosing interval for patients with moderate liver impairment cautiously. Do not administer this medication to patients with severe liver impairment.
Children aged 12 years and older and adults: The dosage should be adjusted based on the intensity of pain and treatment response. It is recommended to start with an initial dose of 2 tablets, and subsequent dosing intervals should be at least 6 hours apart, but no more than 8 tablets a day.
This medication may cause liver damage to individuals who consume more than three alcoholic beverages daily, so consulting a physician or pharmacist is necessary. If a rash or hypersensitivity reaction occurs while taking this medication, stop usage immediately and seek medical attention. This drug contains ingredients that may increase the risk of seizures, so patients with a history of seizures or who have seizure risk factors should use it cautiously. Rarely, serious allergic reactions can occur when taking this medication, so if symptoms such as difficulty breathing or hives develop, immediate medical attention is required. Patients with acute and severe asthma may experience severe respiratory depression when taking this drug, so it should be used only in an environment where medical staff are present. Taking this medication in conjunction with alcohol or central nervous system depressants may result in severe drowsiness or respiratory depression, so it should be avoided or carefully monitored. For patients with head injury or brain diseases, this medication should be administered with caution as it may increase intracranial pressure. This medication can cause psychological and physical dependence, so patients should be monitored carefully for signs of dependence when used long-term. Patients with impaired liver function may experience exacerbated liver damage due to the components of this medication, so it is essential to consult a physician before use. Patients with certain genotypes may produce excessive active metabolites, increasing the risk of respiratory depression, so dosage adjustments should be made under medical supervision. This medication should not be administered to children under 12 years of age or to children after certain surgeries, and administration should be avoided in adolescents aged 12 to 18 with risk factors. There may be a risk of sleep apnea or hypoxemia, so it is necessary to continuously monitor for worsening symptoms and reduce or discontinue the dosage when needed. Elderly patients or those at risk of hyponatremia should be closely monitored for symptoms of hyponatremia while on this medication. This drug should not be administered to specific patients, for example, those with hypersensitivity to its components or in severe respiratory depression, head injury, or patients taking MAO inhibitors. During treatment, do not exceed the recommended dosage, and take care not to combine with other tramadol or acetaminophen preparations. Abrupt discontinuation of this medication may result in withdrawal symptoms, so it is safest to taper off as directed by a physician. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. In case of overdose, severe respiratory depression, seizures, liver damage, and other serious consequences may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment, especially for acetaminophen overdose, which may require liver protective treatment.
