Especially if diarrhea or abdominal pain occurs within two months after antibiotic treatment, consult a healthcare provider immediately. Patients with fructose intolerance or specific sugar metabolism disorders, as well as those taking ergot alkaloids, should not use this medication. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, severely compromised liver function, and diabetics should be particularly cautious when using this medication. Like other antibiotics, this medication carries a risk of secondary infections due to non-susceptible strains, so changes in symptoms should be carefully monitored. It can affect heart rhythms, so patients at higher risk for QT interval prolongation should use this medication cautiously. During pregnancy, safety for the fetus is not fully established, so unnecessary use should be avoided; in breastfeeding cases, consult a specialist as the drug may be transmitted through breast milk.
