Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients with allergies to specific ingredients or those who have had hypersensitivity reactions. It is safest not to administer this medication to patients with significantly impaired renal function or those undergoing dialysis. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should refrain from taking this medication. This medication must not be given to infants under 1 year old, and for children under 6 years old, it should be administered in liquid form rather than tablets. As the tablets contain lactose, patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should not take this medication. Patients with decreased renal or liver function, and elderly individuals should use this medication with caution as blood levels may increase. This medication may cause side effects related to the central nervous system, such as drowsiness, headaches, or dizziness, so caution is required when driving or operating machinery. Gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, abdominal pain, or diarrhea may occur, so any unusual symptoms should be discussed with medical personnel. Cardiovascular side effects, such as abnormal heart rhythms or elevated blood pressure, have also been reported infrequently, so caution is advisable if symptoms occur. Allergic reactions may manifest as skin rashes, itching, or swelling, and immediate notification to a doctor is essential if these symptoms occur. Combining this medication with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants may significantly increase drowsiness and reduced concentration, so these combinations should be avoided. Patients with urinary retention issues should be cautious as the risk of urinary retention may increase during use of this medication. It is safest for pregnant and nursing women to avoid this medication, especially during nursing, as it may be transmitted to the baby. For children under 12 years old, safety and appropriate dosing is important, so dosage should be followed as per the directions of medical staff. Elderly patients should start at a low dose because impaired renal function can lead to increased concentration of the medication, and their conditions should be closely monitored. Discontinuing this medication for a certain period before allergy testing can help produce accurate results without affecting the diagnosis. In case of overdose, symptoms like drowsiness or agitation may occur, and as there is no specific antidote, appropriate treatment should be administered based on the symptoms. This medication cannot be removed by dialysis, so alternative treatment methods should be implemented in case of overdose.
