Summary
- Main use
- Amino acid supply effect for patients with moderate to severe catabolic states.
- Who receives it
- Adults
- Adult administration
- Administer a total of 1-2g of amino acids/dipeptides per kg of body weight per day by drip infusion. For a patient weighing 70kg, 500-1000 mL should be administered per day. The infusion rate is ideally 0.6-0.7 mL per kg of body weight per hour (equivalent to 0.08-0.09g of total amino acids/dipeptides).

Efficacy & effects
Amino acid supply effect for patients with moderate to severe catabolic states.
View approved original textHide original text
This medication is used to provide amino acids to patients who are unable to receive adequate nutrition orally or via the gastrointestinal tract, especially those with moderate to severe catabolic states.
How it is given
Adult administration
Administer a total of 1-2g of amino acids/dipeptides per kg of body weight per day by drip infusion. For a patient weighing 70kg, 500-1000 mL should be administered per day. The infusion rate is ideally 0.6-0.7 mL per kg of body weight per hour (equivalent to 0.08-0.09g of total amino acids/dipeptides).
Precautions
This medication should only be used according to the physician's instructions. It should not be used in certain patients, including those with congenital amino acid metabolism disorders, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, and life-threatening circulatory disturbances. Additionally, patients with metabolic acidosis or insufficient cellular oxygen supply, as well as those with excess body fluids, should not be administered this drug. Patients with low serum sodium or potassium levels, excessive lactic acid accumulation, elevated serum osmolarity, pulmonary edema, or heart failure should also avoid this medication. Patients who have allergic reactions to any components of this medication, children under 2 years of age, and those with a history of myocardial infarction are also excluded from treatment. When administered correctly, adverse reactions are rare; however, if infused too quickly, symptoms such as chills, nausea, vomiting, facial flushing, and increased sweating may occur; in such cases, the infusion rate should be reduced or stopped. Temporary symptoms due to impaired liver function, such as diarrhea, headache, numbness, fever, itching, and heat sensation may occur. During treatment, regular checks on electrolyte levels in the blood, serum osmolarity, body fluid balance, acid-base status, and liver function values should be conducted. So far, no significant interactions with other medications have been reported. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should only use this medication when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. It should never be administered to children under 2 years, and due to insufficient experience in children over 3 years, it is not recommended. Use the medication only if the container is undamaged and the contents are clear, and any remaining drug should not be reused. For storage, the soft bag type does not require ventilation holes, while the vial type requires that a needle be punctured right before dripping to prevent liquid leakage. Do not use if the solution has changed color, leaked, or if condensation has formed inside the packaging, and if the rubber stopper protective film has come off. Finally, ensure to accurately check the graduation marks on the container to use only the prescribed amount.
