Precautions

This medication is a penicillin-class antibiotic and should not be used by patients who are allergic to certain components. Especially individuals with hypersensitivity to penicillins or cephalosporins may experience severe allergic reactions when taking this medication, so caution is necessary. Additionally, this drug contains lactose and should not be administered to patients with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance or galactose intolerance. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, allergic constitutions, severe renal diseases, the elderly, or those with poor nutritional status should use this medication with extra caution, as bleeding tendencies may occur, requiring careful observation of the condition. During use, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain may arise, and in severe cases, serious colitis such as pseudomembranous colitis may occur. If symptoms worsen, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. Moreover, allergic reactions such as hives, rash, difficulty breathing, or anaphylactic shock may occur, so if any allergic symptoms appear, administration must be stopped, and emergency measures should be taken. This medication may affect kidney function, so patients with impaired kidney function need regular testing, and blood tests may reveal issues such as anemia or leukopenia requiring periodic testing. Long-term use of this drug can lead to excessive proliferation of fungi or resistant bacteria, so if symptoms of dysbiosis arise, consult a medical professional immediately. Liver dysfunction or jaundice may appear, necessitating regular liver function tests, and if abnormalities are observed, administration should be ceased. Overdosage may result in neurological symptoms such as convulsions, headaches, or central nervous system stimulation, so it is crucial to adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage. During pregnancy, the risk to the fetus is not significant; however, it should be administered only when absolutely necessary based on medical judgment. While breastfeeding, the drug may be excreted in breast milk, potentially causing diarrhea or skin rashes in the infant, so caution is advised. In children, especially neonates under 6 months old, caution is necessary as renal function is immature. The elderly should be closely monitored for side effects due to decreased bodily function. This medication may interact with other drugs, so when used in combination with drugs such as methotrexate, probenecid, allopurinol, or oral contraceptives, patients should inform their healthcare providers and exercise caution. Finally, to prevent the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, it is essential to only administer this drug for the required duration after checking the sensitivity of the infecting bacteria. If unusual symptoms such as diarrhea or abdominal pain persist during administration, immediate diagnosis and treatment are necessary.
