Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had an allergic reaction to this drug or any of its components. It should also not be administered to patients for whom gastrointestinal stimulation could be harmful, such as those with gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical bowel obstruction, or perforation. This medication contains lactose, so patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. During treatment with this medication, serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis can occur, so careful monitoring is necessary. If symptoms such as hypotension, difficulty breathing, swelling of the throat, hives, pallor, or sweating occur, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be initiated. Liver dysfunction or jaundice symptoms may develop, so regular liver function tests should be performed to monitor the condition. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, and increased salivation may occur, so consult with healthcare professionals if symptoms appear. Central nervous system symptoms such as headache, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and dizziness may also occur, so caution is advised. Endocrine disorders such as gynecomastia and elevated prolactin levels may occur, so treatment should be discontinued if any abnormal symptoms appear. Blood disorders such as thrombocytopenia or leukopenia may occur, so blood tests should be conducted to monitor the condition. Renal function may decrease, so it is advisable to periodically check blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine levels. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, redness, or itching may occur, and administration should be stopped immediately if symptoms appear. Extrapyramidal symptoms such as tremor may occur, so treatment should be discontinued and healthcare professionals consulted if any abnormal symptoms arise. Chest pain or fatigue have also been reported rarely, so careful observation is necessary if these symptoms appear. This medication enhances the action of acetylcholine, so caution should be taken in its use based on this consideration. If gastrointestinal symptoms do not improve, it should not be used for an extended period. The effectiveness of this medication may be reduced when combined with anticholinergics, so attention is needed to adjust the dosing interval. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. In breastfeeding women, this medication may be secreted in breast milk, so it should be avoided if possible, and in unavoidable cases, breastfeeding should be discontinued. The safety in children has not been adequately established, so caution is necessary when using this drug. Elderly patients may experience adverse reactions more easily due to decreased physiological function, so symptoms should be monitored closely, and dosage adjustments or discontinuation should be considered if necessary. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and care should be taken to avoid transferring it to other containers, as this could lead to accidents.
