Precautions

This medication contains pseudoephedrine, which may rarely cause severe skin reactions such as acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis; if fever, rash, or numerous small blisters occur during treatment, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or underlying conditions such as angle-closure glaucoma, urine retention, severe hypertension, heart disease, hyperthyroidism, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, children under the age of 12, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those with genetic lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Patients with glaucoma, hypertension, heart diseases, diabetes, prostatic hyperplasia, liver impairment or a history of liver impairment, conditions that may increase the QT interval, those taking certain antibiotics or antifungals, and those over 60 years old should exercise particular caution when using this medication. This medication may occasionally cause side effects such as palpitations, drowsiness, nervousness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, increased liver enzymes, and skin rash; notify a physician if any unusual symptoms occur. Furthermore, while this medication often does not cause drowsiness or decreased concentration, individuals should verify their reactions and take care when driving or operating dangerous machinery. This medication may enhance the effects of other antihistamines and should not be combined with monoamine oxidase inhibitors, as it may lead to a severe increase in blood pressure. Women who are pregnant or might become pregnant should use this medication with caution, and breastfeeding mothers should ideally stop nursing as this drug can be transferred to breast milk. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to other containers may alter its quality; thus, it is safest to keep it in its original packaging.
