Covastel Extended-release Capsules

Adult dose

Take one capsule once a day, and in severe cases, one capsule twice a day. The duration of treatment is for severe symptoms, and generally, without a physician's directive, it should not exceed 10 days for vasomotor or allergic rhinitis and 3 days for rhinitis associated with colds.

Child dose

Children aged 12 years and over should take one capsule once a day.

This medication contains pseudoephedrine, which may lead to serious skin adverse reactions such as acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis. If fever, erythema, or small pustules appear during use, discontinue immediately and seek medical attention. Those with a hypersensitivity to this medication should not take it. Patients with glaucoma, urinary retention, hypertension, heart disease, hyperthyroidism, or those taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (certain antidepressants) should avoid it. Patients with severe liver impairment, children under 12 years of age, pregnant or breastfeeding women, those with certain hereditary lactose intolerance, and patients with severe kidney disease should not take this medication. Elderly patients over 60 years with glaucoma, hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, prostate hypertrophy, liver disorders, or a history of certain cardiac rhythm abnormalities, and those taking specific antibiotics or antifungals should use this medication with caution. Side effects such as drowsiness, headache, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, skin rash, and palpitations may occur. If symptoms are severe, consult a physician. When driving or operating dangerous machinery, check your condition after taking this medication and proceed with caution. If sudden severe headache, confusion, or seizures occur, discontinue immediately. This medication can have enhanced effects when used with other antihistamines, and the risk of side effects increases when taken with certain antihypertensives or sympathomimetics, so it should be discussed with a physician. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should use this medication with caution, and breastfeeding should be discontinued if this medication is taken. In case of overdose, emergency treatment including gastric lavage and monitoring of heart condition is required, so immediate hospital attention is necessary. Keep this medication out of reach of children, and avoid transferring it to other containers as it may compromise quality or lead to accidents.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent air or moisture exposure and is best kept at a temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius (33.8 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit).
