Precautions

This medication must not be administered to women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Since this medication contains lactose, it should not be used in patients with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Caution is advised when administering this medication to patients with a tendency for bleeding or those taking antiplatelet agents, thrombolytics, or anticoagulants. During the use of this medication, hypersensitivity reactions such as rashes or itching may occur, so if such symptoms occur, discontinue the medication immediately and consult with a healthcare professional. Although bleeding may occur rarely, if bleeding symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and observe closely. Gastrointestinal side effects may include diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort or pain, loss of appetite, and heartburn, with vomiting or abdominal distension occurring rarely. Liver function abnormalities may arise, so it is advisable to routinely check liver enzymes (AST, ALT). Symptoms such as palpitations, hypotension, and cyanosis of the extremities may occur, so caution is needed. Other reported adverse effects include headaches, facial flushing, dizziness, feeling of heat, general malaise, edema, body tremors, hypertrichosis of the lower limbs, and anemia. In patients with lumbar spinal stenosis, changes in symptoms should be closely monitored to decide on the continued use of this medication, as the effectiveness in severe cases requiring surgery is uncertain. The safety of this medication during pregnancy has not been established, as uterine contraction effects have been observed in animal studies; therefore, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should avoid taking it. The safety of this medication in children has not been confirmed, and experience in pediatric use is lacking, so it is best not to administer it to children. In elderly patients, special caution is required as physiological functions may be reduced, and dosage may need to be adjusted accordingly. When administered in high doses to healthy adults, temporary decreases in blood pressure may occur, so caution is necessary.
