Precautions

This medicine should not be used in children under 6 years of age. It contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with a genetic problem of lactose intolerance. This product contains the pigment Yellow No. 5; patients with allergies or hypersensitivity to this ingredient should use it with caution. Drowsiness may occur after taking, so driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided. Symptoms such as mental fatigue, tingling in hands and feet, and dizziness may rarely appear. Gastrointestinal symptoms may rarely occur, including dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, constipation, and diarrhea. Facial flushing or shortness of breath may rarely occur, so caution is advised. Nasal dryness may occur, and liver function test results may temporarily increase. If allergic reactions such as skin rashes occur, immediate discontinuation of the medication is required. Difficulty in urination, blood in urine, or frequent urination may rarely occur. An increase in white blood cell count has been reported rarely in blood tests. Swelling or menstrual irregularities may also occur, so report any abnormal symptoms. Patients receiving long-term steroid therapy should adjust the steroid dose slowly when taking this medication. It is important to understand that this medication does not quickly relieve bronchial asthma attacks. In cases of seasonal allergies, it is recommended to start taking this medication before symptoms begin and to continue until the symptoms resolve. Caution is warranted because alcohol consumption may enhance sedation, and caution is also necessary when taken with cimetidine. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should take the medication only when the benefit outweighs the risk, as there have been reports of potential teratogenic effects in animal studies. Lactating women should avoid using this medication or discontinue breastfeeding while taking it, as the drug may be excreted in breast milk. Safety for premature infants, newborns, infants, and toddlers has not been adequately confirmed, so use with caution. Elderly patients may have reduced physical function, so dose adjustments and other precautions are necessary. This medication may have a bitter taste, so keep this in mind when taking it. Store in a place out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place. Moreover, do not transfer the medication to other containers; keep it in the original container to maintain its quality.
