This medication is used to relieve symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and nasal congestion associated with common cold, allergies, and vasomotor rhinitis. Particularly, the tablet and syrup formulations also improve tearing symptoms, effectively reducing discomfort in daily life.

How to take

Adult dose

Tablet: Take 1 tablet 3 times a day after meals. Capsule: Take 1 capsule 3 times a day after meals. Syrup: Take 10 mL 3 times a day after meals.

Child dose

Tablet: Children aged 12 to 14 years should take 1/2 tablet 3 times a day after meals. Capsule: Children aged 12 to 14 years should take 1/2 capsule 3 times a day after meals. Syrup: For children under 12 years

Precautions

This medication contains pseudoephedrine, which can rarely cause serious skin reactions such as acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP). If symptoms such as fever, skin rash, or small blisters appear, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. This medication is contraindicated for certain health conditions. For example, individuals who have shown allergic reactions to this medication, or have severe liver, kidney, or heart diseases, urinary difficulties, hypertension, or coronary artery disease, should not take this medication. Additionally, pregnant or breastfeeding women, infants under 2 years, individuals taking MAO inhibitors, and those with lactose intolerance or specific genetic metabolic disorders should not use this medication. During the use of this medication, do not take it in conjunction with drugs that may interact, such as antihypertensives, alcohol, central nervous system depressants (sleeping pills, sedatives), certain antidepressants, or sympathomimetics. Specifically, those who have taken MAO inhibitors should wait at least 15 days before using this medication. While taking this medication, it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery that requires attention. Individuals with asthma, glaucoma, heart diseases, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, or benign prostatic hyperplasia must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Consultation with a healthcare professional is also necessary for children under 12 years of age. If symptoms do not improve within 7 days or if accompanied by a high fever, discontinue use immediately and consult healthcare professionals. Additionally, if symptoms of central nervous system abnormalities such as sedation, drowsiness, anxiety, visual problems, hallucinations, muscle spasms, severe headaches, vomiting, coma, or cardiovascular collapse occur, stop taking the medication and seek medical attention. If unusual reactions such as skin rash, itching, burning sensation, vomiting, or difficulty urinating occur, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. Special caution is needed as excitement may especially occur in children. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hallucinations, seizures, nervousness, dizziness, and insomnia may occur; notify medical personnel immediately for appropriate emergency handling. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, in its original sealed container, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place. Transferring to other containers may reduce its effectiveness or risk misuse, so it must be kept in its original container.

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with antihypertensives, central nervous system depressants (sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers), MAO inhibitors, sympathomimetics, tricyclic antidepressants, guanethidine, bretylium, betanidine, debrisoquine, methyldopa, sympathomimetic agents (decongestants, appetite suppressants, amphetamines), or α and β adrenergic antagonists. Also, do not take with alcohol.

Storage

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent air or moisture from entering and should be kept at a safe temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage will help maintain the effectiveness of the medication.
