View approved original text

This medication is used as an adjunct to diet and exercise for improving blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be taken alone or in combination with sulfonylureas, metformin, or insulin if there is no improvement in blood sugar levels after using other oral hypoglycemic agents. Additionally, patients with type 2 diabetes require nutritional counseling, weight loss, and regular exercise, as these efforts are important not only for initial treatment but also for maintaining the efficacy of the medication. This medication effectively enhances blood sugar control.
