International Rimaprost Tablets (Rimaprost Alpha-Dex)

Adult dose

1. For improvement of ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and coldness due to thromboangiitis obliterans (Buerger disease), the usual adult dosage is 2 tablets orally 3 times daily. 2. For improvement of subjective symptoms (lower limb pain and numbness) and walking ability due to acquired lumbar spinal canal stenosis (in patients with a normal SLR test and bilateral intermittent claudication), the usual adult dosage is 1 tablet orally 3 times daily. The dosage may be adjusted appropriately according to age and symptoms.

This medication should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. This medication contains lactose, so patients with a genetic problem of lactose intolerance should not take it. Patients with a tendency to bleed or those taking medications that may induce bleeding should use this medication cautiously. Occasionally, allergic reactions such as skin rashes or itching may occur, so if these symptoms develop, the medication should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted. Rarely, bleeding may occur, so the body condition should be closely monitored and the medication should be stopped immediately if there are any abnormalities. It may affect the gastrointestinal tract, leading to symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, loss of appetite, or heartburn. It may affect liver function and cause increased liver enzymes, so regular testing is required. Be cautious as it may cause increased heart rate or rarely cause cyanosis of the extremities or low blood pressure. Various symptoms such as headaches, facial flushing or dizziness, feverish sensation, general fatigue, swelling, breast pain, tremor, increased body hair on the legs, and anemia may occur. Patients with lumbar spinal canal stenosis should determine whether to continue based on changes in symptoms, and the effectiveness for severe cases requiring surgery is uncertain. Safety during pregnancy has not been established, and uterine contractions have been reported in animal studies, so pregnant women should avoid taking it. Safety has not been verified in children, so it is advisable not to use it for them. Elderly people may have decreased bodily function, so it should be used cautiously at reduced dosages. Administering high doses to healthy adults may temporarily lower blood pressure, so caution is needed.
