This medication is used to relieve various symptoms associated with colds, such as runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, sore throat, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and older should take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 hours. The total daily dosage should not exceed 8 tablets combined for daytime and nighttime use.

Precautions

This medicine should be consulted with a doctor or pharmacist before use for individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages a day. Heavy drinkers face a higher risk of liver damage when taking this medicine. People who have had allergic reactions to this drug or have hypersensitivity to any component of this drug should not take it. Additionally, individuals who have experienced asthma symptoms while taking this drug or similar medications should also avoid its use. Those currently taking antidepressants or specific psychiatric medications or have stopped taking them within the last two weeks, individuals with severe hypertension or coronary artery disease should not take this medication. This drug contains lactose, so those with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should refrain from use. Do not take other products containing acetaminophen while using this medication, and be careful not to exceed the maximum daily dosage to prevent liver damage. Furthermore, it should not be used in combination with cough suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretics and analgesics, sedatives, antihistamines, antihypertensive medications, or certain decongestants. Before taking this medicine, infants and children under 15 who have had chickenpox or the flu, individuals with allergic constitutions, those with liver, kidney, or heart diseases, elderly individuals, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those with certain cough symptoms should consult with a doctor or pharmacist. If you experience any abnormal symptoms such as rash, itching, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or difficulty breathing during use, discontinue use immediately and consult with medical personnel. Notably, be cautious as there may be severe allergic reactions or liver function changes. It is crucial to adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration, and long-term use is not recommended. Avoid use in infants under 3 months, and refrain from use beyond special cases in infants under 1 year for safety. Avoid consuming alcohol during use, and since drowsiness may occur, do not drive or operate machinery. Caution is necessary because the risk of hepatotoxicity may increase when used with certain medications. Excessive dosage can lead to liver damage, so seek treatment immediately even if symptoms are absent. Store this medication out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place. It is important not to transfer it to another container to maintain its quality.

  • Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweats, paleness → severe allergic reaction
  • Severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa → severe skin adverse reaction
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), profound fatigue → liver abnormality (jaundice)
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory issues accompanied by cough and fever → respiratory problems

Mild side effects

Rash, redness, itching, swelling (of the larynx, eyelids, lips, etc.), nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, difficulty urinating, dry mouth, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, insomnia, headache, wheezing, asthma, yellow or green sputum, high anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA)

Drug interactions

This medication should not be taken with oral medicines containing cough suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Avoid taking it with antihypertensive or hypotensive medications, phenylephrine hydrochloride, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, or salicylates. Caution is needed as taking this medication with barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, and alcohol may increase the plasma half-life of acetaminophen.

Storage

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to prevent air or moisture from entering. The recommended storage temperature is between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature.
