Precautions

This medication may cause adverse reactions such as diarrhea, dry mouth, and fatigue in about 4% of patients during use. There is a risk of hepatitis or jaundice as it may affect liver function, so if symptoms of hepatic dysfunction occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Additionally, various side effects such as rash, urticaria, eosinophilia, vomiting, dizziness, and palpitations have been reported, so consult healthcare personnel if abnormal symptoms arise. If gastrointestinal symptoms do not improve within 2 weeks, prolonged use should be avoided. The effectiveness may be reduced when taken with anticholinergics, so caution should be exercised with spacing the doses. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication cautiously, as its safety has not been established, and breastfeeding women should either avoid use or discontinue breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been confirmed, so it is advisable not to use it. The elderly should be monitored as their kidney and liver function may decline, and dosage should be adjusted in the event of adverse reactions. Medications should be kept out of the reach of children, and transferring to another container is important for maintaining quality. Lastly, caution is needed for long-term use, as increased tumor incidence was observed in high-dose animal studies.
