Precautions

This medicine is a penicillin-based antibiotic that can cause specific allergic reactions, so patients who are hypersensitive to penicillin or cephalosporin drugs should not use it. Additionally, since it contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders. Caution is advised for patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, those who have experienced various allergic reactions, patients with allergic constitution such as bronchial asthma, patients with severely impaired renal function, the elderly, and those in poor overall health. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain may occur. In severe cases, pseudomembranous colitis may develop, so if symptoms worsen, immediately stop taking the medicine and consult a healthcare professional. Severe hypersensitivity reactions, such as rash, urticaria, serum sickness-like reactions, and anaphylactic shock, may occur, so if any allergic symptoms develop, the use of this drug should be stopped immediately. Serious side effects such as renal dysfunction, hematological abnormalities, and liver dysfunction have been reported infrequently, so regular monitoring is required, and if any abnormal symptoms are observed, notify a healthcare professional immediately. Prolonged use may allow for the overgrowth of fungi or non-susceptible bacteria, possibly leading to infections like stomatitis or candidiasis, so caution is necessary. While the risk to the fetus during pregnancy is low, it should only be used if the therapeutic benefit outweighs the risks. In breastfeeding mothers, caution is needed as diarrhea or skin rashes may occur in the baby. Children, especially infants or neonates under six months old, should be closely monitored when administered due to immature renal function. Elderly patients have a higher risk of side effects due to decreased bodily function, making dose adjustment and patient condition observation important. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, be sure to inform your healthcare provider, especially when combined with methotrexate, probenecid, allopurinol, and oral contraceptives, caution is required. In case of overdose, neuropsychiatric symptoms or renal failure may occur, so immediate medical attention is necessary for appropriate treatment. If persistent diarrhea, abdominal pain, rash, or breathing difficulties occur while using this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a healthcare professional.
