Precautions

This drug should not be used in certain patients. It should not be administered to patients who have previously experienced severe allergic reactions or shock due to this drug, patients allergic to cephalosporins, patients with infectious mononucleosis, and patients with genetic disorders that prevent lactose digestion. Additionally, there are patients in whom caution should be exercised when administering this drug. Patients with a history of allergies, those with hypersensitivity to penicillin antibiotics, patients with a family history of bronchial asthma or skin allergy symptoms, patients with severe impaired kidney function, patients or elderly individuals who have difficulty in oral ingestion, patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, and patients allergic to the dye contained in this drug need special caution. Various side effects can occur with this drug. Rarely, shock or severe allergic reactions may occur, and if symptoms arise, the drug should be discontinued immediately and medical treatment pursued. Issues related to blood, liver, kidney dysregulation, gastrointestinal inflammation and diarrhea, respiratory issues, infections like stomatitis, neurological symptoms, skin diseases, and symptoms of vitamin deficiency have been reported. If any unusual symptoms appear, immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary. When using this drug, it is important to check the susceptibility of the infectious bacteria to prevent the emergence of resistant strains and to take it only for the necessary duration. Due to the risk of allergic reactions, a thorough medical history is required before administration, and appropriate emergency treatment should be provided in case of adverse reactions. Regular monitoring of blood, kidney, and liver function is necessary during long-term use, especially for patients with impaired kidney function, who may require dose adjustments. Caution is required when used in conjunction with other drugs. In particular, when used with aminoglycoside antibiotics or diuretics, which may affect the kidneys, the risk of kidney damage may be heightened, so it should be administered cautiously. Additionally, concurrent use with probenecid may increase the concentration of this drug in the body, which requires caution. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this drug when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been fully established. Nursing mothers should also exercise caution when using this drug. Elderly individuals may experience increased adverse reactions due to decreased bodily functions, so dose and administration intervals should be adjusted, and their conditions must be closely monitored. In particular, there is a higher risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency, which should be considered carefully. This drug may affect the results of certain clinical tests. False positive reactions may occur in urine tests, and the direct Coombs test may be positive in blood tests, which should be taken into account when interpreting test results. Finally, during the use of this drug, sensitivity to light may increase, so excessive sun exposure should be avoided.
