Precautions

This drug must be used with caution in patients with edema or ascites due to liver cirrhosis, as it can cause rapid changes in body fluid and electrolyte balance, leading to the severe brain dysfunction known as hepatic coma. It should not be administered to specific patient groups such as children under 12 years, patients with hypotension, patients with severely impaired kidney function, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and patients with severe liver dysfunction. It is particularly important to use this drug cautiously in patients with a history of gout or diabetes, those with weak kidney or liver function, and the elderly. If necessary, appropriate measures should be taken after consulting a physician. Taking this medication may result in symptoms such as headache, dizziness, fatigue, and muscle numbness. Additionally, various side effects can occur, though rarely, including blood pressure drop or heart issues, gastrointestinal disturbances, and skin rashes. If any abnormal symptoms occur, medical attention should be sought immediately. This drug can interact with other antihypertensives, certain antibiotics, and diabetes medications, so inform your healthcare provider about any other medications being taken. During treatment, it is important to maintain adequate potassium intake and regularly check electrolyte levels and kidney function through blood tests. Care should be taken when engaging in activities requiring concentration, such as driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or drowsiness may occur after taking this medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this drug, and those planning to become pregnant should consult with their healthcare provider. The safety of this medication has not been established in pediatric patients, so it is not used in children under 12. Elderly patients may easily experience dehydration, hypotension, and electrolyte imbalance when using this medication. Therefore, the initial dose should be small, and their condition should be closely monitored. In case of overdose, severe dehydration, electrolyte abnormalities, or coma may occur, requiring immediate medical treatment. This medication should be stored in a safe place away from children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided as it may adversely affect its quality.
