Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For instance, it should not be administered to patients with allergies to this drug or its components, or those with a history of angioedema. Patients with orthostatic hypotension may experience worsened symptoms when taking this medication, and should avoid it. Patients with severely impaired liver function may experience increased drug concentrations, and its use should be avoided. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication. Furthermore, patients with lactose intolerance or specific genetic metabolic disorders should not take this medication due to the lactose it contains. Patients with severe kidney impairment, elderly patients, and those taking certain medications (e.g., PDE5 inhibitors, CYP3A4 inhibitors, antihypertensives) should use this drug with caution. Particularly, patients currently taking alpha-1 blockers or with a history of urinary syncope must be very cautious when using this medication and should only do so if necessary and with careful consideration. This medication may cause severe side effects such as loss of consciousness or fainting; therefore, symptoms should be closely monitored when taking it. Various side effects may occur, including dizziness, headache, drowsiness, blood pressure drop, arrhythmia, rash, nausea, abnormal liver function, etc. If any abnormal symptoms occur, medical consultation should be sought immediately. Overdosage may carry the risk of excessively low blood pressure; thus, adherence to prescribed dosages is crucial, and care should be taken regarding dizziness from sudden position changes due to blood pressure drop. This medication is a symptomatic treatment; if it does not provide relief, other treatment options should be considered. Caution is advised when driving or operating heavy machinery, as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. This medication may affect vision during certain surgeries, so if cataract or glaucoma surgery is planned, it is essential to inform the medical personnel. Patients with a sulfa drug allergy should be cautious of potential allergic reactions when taking this medication. When taken with other antihypertensives or specific medications, interactions could lead to exacerbated blood pressure drops; hence, all concurrently taken medications should be disclosed to healthcare providers. This medication is not suitable for women and children, and elderly patients should start with a lower dosage considering renal function and monitor progress. When taking, the tablet should be swallowed whole, without chewing or opening the capsule, especially since it is an extended-release formulation that may alter the medication's effects. Keep out of reach of children, and do not transfer to other containers for safety.
