This medication is used to improve various symptoms associated with atherosclerosis in blood vessels. It alleviates symptoms by improving vascular health in patients with ischemic stroke, myocardial infarction, or peripheral arterial disease. It also helps to reduce the risk of significant complications due to cardiovascular abnormalities in patients with acute coronary syndrome who have undergone drug therapy, procedures, or surgery. Additionally, it is effective in reducing the risk of stroke and thromboembolism in patients with atrial fibrillation who have multiple vascular risk factors and for whom vitamin K antagonist therapy is not appropriate. These effects improve the overall vascular health of patients.

How to take

Adult dose

○ Adults 1. For patients with ischemic stroke, myocardial infarction, or peripheral arterial disease, administer clopidogrel 75 mg orally once daily. 2. For patients with acute coronary syndrome (unstable angina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction), start with a loading dose of 300 mg of this medicine once daily on the day treatment is initiated, followed by a maintenance dose of 75 mg orally once daily. Precautions

This medication prevents blood platelets from aggregating to inhibit thrombus formation. During the use of this medication, the risk of bleeding may increase, so if symptoms of bleeding or easy bruising occur, consult a physician immediately. Patients genetically deficient in the specific enzyme (CYP2C19) may experience reduced effectiveness of this medication, and alternatives should be considered in such cases. Taking this medication with certain drugs may alter the concentration of the active ingredient, so inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using other medications. Patients with severe bleeding, severely impaired liver or kidney function, breastfeeding women, and those with lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Patients scheduled for surgery should discontinue this medication 5-7 days before the procedure, and it should be administered with caution in bleeding prone conditions. Caution is advised as the risk of bleeding may increase when used concomitantly with other antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Safety in children and pregnant women has not been adequately established, so its use is generally not recommended except in special cases. Elderly patients or those with low body weight have a higher risk of bleeding, thus require more caution during treatment. In case of overdose, bleeding time may be prolonged, and immediate medical treatment is necessary as there is no specific antidote available. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container.
