Precautions

This medication should not be administered to patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions, or have gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstruction, or perforation. When using this medication, patients should be closely monitored for severe allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis. If low blood pressure, difficulty in breathing, skin rash, pallor, or excessive sweating occurs, administration should be immediately stopped and appropriate treatment should be obtained. Regular monitoring of liver function is necessary as this medication may cause liver dysfunction, and use should be discontinued if any signs of liver dysfunction or jaundice appear. Gastrointestinal-related side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, and increased salivation may occur. Neurological symptoms such as headache, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and dizziness may also appear. Endocrine disorders such as gynecomastia or increased prolactin levels may occur, and if such symptoms appear, the use of this medication should be stopped. Blood abnormalities such as decreased platelets or white blood cells may occur, so regular blood tests are necessary, and if any abnormalities are detected, usage should be discontinued. As this medication may affect kidney function, it is recommended to conduct kidney-related examinations. Rarely, allergic reactions such as skin rash, redness, and itching may occur, and in such cases, the use of this medication should be discontinued. While taking the medication, tremors or extrapyramidal symptoms may appear, and if such symptoms occur, the patient should consult the physician. Chest or back pain and fatigue have also been reported, so if these symptoms persist, the healthcare provider should be notified. Since this medication potentiates the action of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, it should be used with caution. If gastrointestinal symptoms do not improve, long-term use is not recommended. When taken with anticholinergics, the effectiveness of this medication may decrease, so the dosing interval should be adjusted or used cautiously. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication when absolutely necessary, as safety during pregnancy has not been established, and breastfeeding should be avoided to prevent the medication from passing into breast milk. The safety in pediatrics has not been sufficiently established, so use in children should be approached with caution. Elderly patients may have diminished physical function, making them more prone to adverse reactions, and symptoms should be closely monitored; dosage may need adjustment or discontinuation as necessary. Store this medication out of reach of children, and it is safer not to transfer it to other containers to help maintain quality.
